Job Title: Front-Line Leader I/II

Department / Division: Personal Care Manufacturing / Access Business Group 

Location: Ada, MI


What do we need:

We are looking to hire a Front-Line Leader for our Personal Care Manufacturing Plant. You will be responsible for planning and incorporating goals to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality and delivery.

What’s special about this team:

The Personal Care Manufacturing Plant produces a variety of personal care products both unique to the Amway business, as well as our contract manufacturers’ products. This high-volume plant provides the opportunity to learn, develop, and grow in multiple skillsets across different roles, as well as training opportunities. With high profile contract projects coming in, the plant continues to grow as our business continues to invest in that growth. This role will provide a leadership role with the opportunity to influence manufacturing teams, deepen your leadership skills, and be a part of the key decision-making processes. This role will operate on a 3rd shift schedule working Sunday night - Friday morning, 10:00pm - 7:00am. This position may require scheduling flexibility to train on 1st shift (7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday) up to two months depending on capability.  To get a look into our operations and how you can grow your career, please CLICK HERE.


What’s special about this role:

The Front-Line Leader (FLL) I will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising activities during a single shift within our Soft Gel or Packaging operations.  They are expected to deliver operational excellence in safety, quality and the delivery of products to our customers. The FLL will achieve results through leading and assisting manufacturing technicians with technical support, incident management to safety and quality outages, coaching and mentoring. 

Responsibilities will include:

Demonstrating capabilities of an entry-level leader and setting direction for the shift while driving activities that support business goals, effectively communicating across all levels, responding to situations and challenges and encouraging and rewarding team members. The FFL will perform functions associated with safety and productivity on a designated shift and functional job family while maintaining a high level of quality.


Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within in a manufacturing setting and leadership experience highly preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED


Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Active member of FLL program
  • Basic computer skills to include an ability to learn and use company MRP (JDE/DcLink), MES (CAC), and PMC systems, related software, databases and applications to include use of typical office suite software packages
  • Ability to obtain a Hilo license
  • Interact with/lead cross-functional teams to achieve defined outcomes through partnering, constructive and positive collaboration with culturally diverse team members, internal customers and external suppliers, respects and values differences and opinions of others
  • Understand customer needs and expectations and consistently look for ways to exceed the customer’s expectations. 
  • Build trust and integrity through open, timely, honest and constructive verbal and written communication with internal team members, internal customers and external suppliers to include effective delivery of and acceptance of feedback

Successfully adapt and adjust to changing approaches, processes, ideas, tools, and techniques
