Job title:     Sr. Scrum Master

Department:   Americas IT PMO

Location:          Ada, MI

What do we need:

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to drive the agile workflow primarily for IT and Digital work, and to assist in the planning and execution of workstreams in the Americas.

What’s special about this team:

You will report directly to the Manager of IT Project Management Office and Programs, and up to the Director of IT Planning. You will co-locate with the market’s PMO team initially, and eventually with the squads you directly support. This team is a key driver in many critical projects and ongoing work in the Market and is a vital part of the overall strategy moving forward.

How you would contribute to the role:

Still in the early stages of Agile Transformation, this role is key to the transformation from a traditional “Waterfall” style of Project Management, to the “Agile” methodology of how work gets done, taking a hybrid approach over the next couple of years.  As we learn and grow our capabilities, we’ll rely on your flexibility to move around as necessary, and to be a change agent for the Agile method and framework.

Your experience with Agile will be important as you help to champion the transformation to Agile.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage Program/Project timelines, and deadlines, on a macro level
  • Prepare communications for the Project Team and key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Agile portfolio team and as part of one or more product teams
  • Develop visual management boards and other tools to monitor progress
  • As you help us move into a more Agile environment, you will keep work flowing smoothly, be responsible for sprint planning, the daily scrum, the sprint review, and the restrospectives.

What skills and background will be important to be successful?

You are the servant leader to the scrum team.  You must have demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master and experience managing workflow using Agile methodologies. Prior Project Management experience is a plus, as is a CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification. You also must be able to navigate a fluid environment. If you have experience, but don’t have a CSM certification already, you must be willing to pursue it upon accepting the role.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Agile experience, specifically as a ScrumMaster
  • Experience working on projects with multi-market complexity and dealing with Executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to look at the big picture strategy, as well as get into the details of execution.
  • Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • An understanding of Change Management and how it fits within the confines of a project
