Job Title: Distribution Mechanic I – 2nd Shift

The Logistics Division is responsible for supporting our customers, manufacturing plants and global affiliates through their warehousing and Service Centers across the United States. They support all aspects of our business throughout the supply chain, including the final orders to our customers. Our motto is “Perfect Orders Every Time” and we strive to exceed our customer’s expectations through a flexible and agile workforce. The Southeast Service Center (SESC) is based in Norcross, Georgia. As a Distribution Mechanic supporting the facility, you will serve as the quick responder for all material handling and warehousing equipment maintenance and repair.  In this role, you will work on 2nd shift with working hours of 4:30pm – 1:00am, Monday – Friday.


How you would contribute to the role:

As a Mechanic on the team, you will have multiple responsibilities in this role. This will include performing scheduled maintenance, repair and troubleshooting equipment, installing new equipment, as well as modifying and fabricating components for existing equipment. You will be responsible for assisting to monitor the proper operations of equipment and report necessary major repair and maintenance work.  You will also assist with managing outside service providers to include acquiring quotes, maintain records, manage department safety, and parts management and oversee inspections by outside agencies and internal departments. 


What skills and background will be important to be successful:

  • High school diploma. Technical School training or certification preferred.
  • One to three years’ experience with mechanic ability required.
  • Possessing the ability and willingness to follow all safety rules, report and correct conditions that may increase the risk of injury.
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and related documents.
  • Operating the following applications/systems: MS Excel, MS Word, Lotus Notes, Internet and applications applicable to warehouse operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well and proactively communicate with individuals throughout the company and with external vendors in a cooperative, constructive and positive manner
  • Strong mechanical skills to include knowledge of conveyor and sortation equipment, hydraulic systems, compressed air systems, pumping systems, lubrication systems, warehouse control system, HMI screens, forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred.
