About Our Internship Program:

Here at Amway, our interns develop through real world experience and are assigned meaningful projects that challenge and allow for personal growth. All Interns receive project support and on-going performance feedback from a person advisor and hiring manager. Amway hosts over 80+ interns each summer and offers programming events designed to assist navigating Amway culture, making the most of a summer internship, and building a successful career. The program provides exposure to a breadth of career fields and offers unique opportunities to learn business acumen, work cross-functionally and showcase their skillsets directly to hiring managers and executives.

 

Internship Eligibility:

This job posting is for our summer 2021 Internship Program (May – August); qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern.

What is special about this team: The department has fun while completing challenging work. Amway tax successfully lobbied in Washington DC to change IRS policy based on tax reform to be more favorable for S Corporations. Awmay Tax is doing cool things with technology and has a great atmosphere for teamwork. The whole team gets exposure to federal, state, local and international tax topics.

 

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: This position will have a direct impact to the shareholders’ US income tax returns. The compliance and planning projects will help identify opportunities and reduce risk for the positions taken on the US income tax returns. The projects will help drive efficiencies through standardizing processes with the use of technology.

 

An example of a typical project is:  Projects are focused on assisting the tax department with various tax compliance and planning projects. Potential projects include, year-end tax provision and balance sheet reconciliations. Compliance activities associated with Corporate Federal and State income tax compliance including returns, extensions and quarterly estimate calculations. Support of active federal and state audit defense. Prioritized process improvements through the use of techonoloy, Altryex, Tableu, etc.

 

What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship?

     Desired Skills: Finance or Accounting major preferred. Proficient with Office tools (Excel, Access etc.). Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Strong analytical and communications skills.

     Desired Degree: BBA (focus in Finance, Accounting or Tax) or Masters degree (MST or MSA).
