Internship Job Title:  Cloud Engineering - SRE


Pay Range: $22.83 - $29.17 per hour (undergrad)


What is special about this team:


The Site Reliabilty Engineering team is a high performing, very collaborative team that partners with Product teams to deliver cloud based solutions on Amazon Web Services.


The team is well-versed in Amazon Web Services, software engineering, and systems management, delivering DevOps solutions and bridging the gap between development and operations. We work with Product teams to design cloud solutions that that will be scalable, reliable, resilient, and performant. The team works with peer teams such as product delivery, security, and production operations to deliver eCommerce and other digital solutions to markets around the globe.




How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:


As a Site Reliability Engineer, you would be applying knowledge of AWS cloud services and features to drive best practice architecture using Infrastructure as Code and automation to promote a culture of continuous improvement.


An example of a typical project is:


Engaging product teams to define cloud services architecture to meet solution requirements. Building environments and application stacks in AWS using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) through automated and repeatable patterns. Looking for ways to advance and evolve Amway’s product solution delivery by integrating leading-edge cloud services, features, and engineering.


What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship?


Desired Skills: Understanding of Software Engineering design principles and best practices. Experience with scripting languages (examples: Python, JSON, TypeScript, Shell scripts, etc.). Exposure to one or more development languages. Demonstrates good problem solving, team collaboration, and fast learning. Has a genuine interest in cloud technologies.


Desired Prospective Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering or Cloud Engineering

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
