What do we need:

This opening is for a Microbiology Lab Technician supporting testing and release of raw materials, finished goods and environmental samples.  You will work in the Nutrition Microbiology GMP Lab supporting the products made on Amway’s main campus. 

What’s special about this team:

The Nutrition Microbiology Team consists of four FTEs and five contractors performing testing to ensure the microbiological quality of Amway’s products and manufacturing environments.  This first shift position will also be trained in “back room” media production and autoclave use.  You will become proficient in a variety of microbiological techniques, ranging from traditional to rapid, all while referencing SOPs and test methods.  This GMP lab tests a variety of samples.  You will find a multitude of ways to gain technical depth as the lab performs/supports validations and performs different types of investigations.  You will work in a fast-paced environment while still having time to focus on your career development.

Your ability to work as part of a cohesive team will be valuable.  This team utilizes a rotational schedule to keep the job interesting and to ensure the workload is covered.  You will be trained on multiple techniques within the lab and will be kept up-to-date with team meetings.  You will collaborate with the Healthy Beauty & Home Microbiology Lab, including opportunities for cross-training (and fun team excursions!)


Required qualifications:

  • BS degree in Life Sciences
  • Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs/test methods


Skills to be successful in the role:

  • GMP microbiology laboratory experience preferred
  • Flexible team player
  • Ability to stand or sit for duration of shift
  • Ability to periodically lift up to 50lbs
