Job Purpose:
Function as the integration point between the commercial and operational divisions of Amway, using analytical, marketing, and sales data to estimate future product demands for existing items as well as new items. Utilize industry-standard supply chain planning tools to forecast demand at the point-of-distribution across Amway’s global supply chain network.
Primary Responsibilities:
NEW/PROPOSED PRODUCT FORECASTING:
• Partner with Demand Planning Analytics and Affiliate Marketing teams to create consensus-based demand forecasts for new or proposed products; review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
• Collaborate with Affiliate Marketing on new promotions, functioning as a conduit for collecting required information on promotional mechanics, timing, item data, etc.; responsible for loading into supply chain systems and validating for demand and supply planning;
EXISTING PRODUCT FORECASTING:
• Track daily demand for new items; identify and communicate changes in predicted demand patterns to impacted departments and regions
• Review and maintain forecasts for existing products across all points-of-distribution, comparing recent sales trends to current forecasts, considering promotional activity, macro trends and interaction between product lines; update forecasts, as necessary, to assure they remain current and accurate• Partner with Demand Planning Analytics to improve demand forecast accuracy for responsible markets and/or business lines across all points of distribution; propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
SALES & OPERATIONAL PLANNING:
• Participate as a key support resource in market S&OP processes, coordinating supply and demand activities in support of business strategies and initiatives
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain functions to ensure operational planning and manufacturing capacity is in place to execute proposed demand plans, both short-term and long-term;
• Participate in a continuous micro and macro forecast alignment process, directly impacting distributor satisfaction (product service levels) and global inventory investment.
Required qualifications:
Developing grasp of the following:
• Key supply chain principles: understanding of key supply chain principles and strategies;
• Forecast concepts, statistical knowledge, and understanding of economic concepts (elasticity of supply/demand);
• Analytical problem solving: synthesize, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from technical or business material;
• Systems aptitude: ability to comfortably work with advanced supply chain planning systems and tools;
• Process Improvement: ability to challenge current processes and drive continuous improvement;
• Understanding of Amway’s sales and marketing plan and Amway’s key sales drivers (holistic understanding of business, including marketing, sales, and distributor components, and how they work together to impact sales)
• Communicate business information: effectively communicate and present complex data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences; helps others understand data and translate into actionable business insights.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with JDA(Blue Yonder) Supply Chain Planning Demand and Fulfillment modules
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards
• Prior experience as a demand planner or similar supply chain planning experience
