What do we need:

Our Southeast Service Centers needs a Mechanic who will serve as a quick responder for any issues with material handling and warehousing equipment.  This would be a great opportunity for someone with strong technical ability to grow and develop their mechanical skills.  This role could support either 2nd or 3rd shift.

The Logistics Division is responsible for supporting our customers, manufacturing plants and global affiliates through their warehousing and Service Centers across the United States. They support all aspects of our business throughout the supply chain, including the final orders to our customers. Our motto is “Perfect Orders Every Time” and we strive to exceed our customer’s expectations through a flexible and agile workforce. The Southeast Service Center (SESC) is based in Norcross, Georgia and handles all order fulfillment for the entire east coast for Amway.


What’s special about this role:

As a Mechanic on the team, you will have multiple responsibilities, which will include performing scheduled maintenance, the repair and troubleshooting of equipment, and installing new equipment.  At times you may need to modify and fabricate components for existing equipment. You will be responsible for monitoring equipment and reporting necessary major repair and maintenance work.


You will also assist with managing outside service providers, which will include acquiring quotes, maintaining records, managing department safety, and overseeing parts management and inspections by outside agencies.  This role can support either 2nd or 3rd shift.  The hours for 2nd shift are 3:00 - 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift working hours are 11:00 pm – 7:00am, Sunday night through Friday morning.


Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma. Technical School training or certification preferred.
  • One to three years’ experience with maintenance of conveyor equipment, preferably with multiple, integrated systems
  • Possessing the ability and willingness to follow all safety rules.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and related documents.


Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and applications applicable to warehouse operations.
  • Strong communication skills combined with the ability to work in a cooperative, constructive and positive manner
  • Excellent mechanical skills, with knowledge of conveyor and sortation equipment, hydraulic systems, compressed air systems, pumping systems, lubrication systems, warehouse control system, HMI screens, forklifts and pallet jacks.
