Purpose of the role
- Identify, plan and execute capital projects and process improvements to reduce the cost of distribution and to improve the customer experience with increasing levels of complexity and size.
- Support regional staff in assessment, planning and implementing change supporting ecommerce and a shift towards a customer focus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design solutions to assigned projects, create project plans, identify, select and lead contract and supplier resources to assure successful capital project execution.
- Develop facility designs including fulfillment equipment with the support of partner integrators, develop storage layout and equipment plans, apply latest technologies in a cost justified manner.
- Identify process and equipment changes to improve cost and order fulfillment improvements
- Support all distribution facilities in India including where physical presence exits including shops, distribution center and warehousing functions.
- Execute capital projects in SEA markets as assigned assuming a maximum of 25% travel time outside of India
- Develop and manage project budgets to assure cost control to approved plans.
- Develop and assure schedule compliance for capital projects
- Manage multiple projects concurrently ranging from simple process continuous improvement projects to multi-site new locations equipment installations.
Assessment and analysis
- Support distribution network analysis and implement changes identified in analysis
- Support 3PL assessment and selection and support 3PL capability improvements to meet Amway business objectives
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Process Improvement – Ability to challenge current processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate Business Information – Effectively communication and presenting complex data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences; helps others understand data and translate it into actionable business insights.
- Managing Multiple Priorities – Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities making effective judgements as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to formulate conclusions and recommendations using facts and data, business analysis, deductive reasoning and sound judgment.
