Job Title: Distribution Generalist

Department / Division:  Logistics / Access Business Group, LLC.

Location: Ada, MI

 The Logistics Division is responsible for supporting our customers, manufacturing plants, and global affiliates through their warehousing and Service Centers across the United States and Canada. They support all aspects of our business throughout the supply chain, including the final orders to our customers. Their motto is “Perfect Orders Every Time,” and they strive to exceed their customers’ expectations through a flexible and agile workforce. The Midwest Regional Service Center (MWRSC) is our largest facility, is based in Ada, Michigan, and provides pick, pack, and ship services to local Amway Business Owners, as well as domestic and international warehousing. As a Distribution Generalist on the team, you will work with customers, handle merchandise, including loading, unloading, repacking, and replenishing merchandise. In this role, you will work on 2nd shift and report to the Group Leader for the 2nd shift team with working hours Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm. 


How you would contribute to the role:

 You will have multiple responsibilities and variety in this role. Your attention to detail will be appreciated as you efficiently and accurately fulfill customer orders while inspecting the orders to ensure quality standards are met. You will identify, pick, process, label/relabel, pack/repack products for shipping. As customer returns are received, you will distribute the incoming goods back to pick while verifying packaging documents. Your ability to strategically load customer packages onto a trailer will be valued as you work to avoid damage and package tip-overs. As you grow in the role, you will have the opportunity to assist and train other employees and temporary staff on a regular basis.


What skills and background will be important to be successful:

  • Experience in an industrial or warehouse setting
  • Basic computer skills to include inputting, retrieving and verifying the accuracy of data input into various warehouse programs and applications
  • Utilizing strong organizational skills with logical thinking skills to understand process and production requirements
  • Demonstrated willingness for continuous improvement, offering solutions to process problems and issues as a part of a collaborative team
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills with safety as a top priority
  • Ability to use a manual pallet jack
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • High school diploma or equivalent
