Background of Functional Area Portfolio Team is responsible for the Portfolio design and management across all product categories.  Responsibilities include Pricing, Innovation Pipeline, Future State Portfolio Design, short/Long-term Portfolio planning, and Analytics. 

 

Project Description Product will be comprised of 70% Focused deliverable, 15-20% general deliverables, 10-15%, Intern interested based deliverables. The key focus of the project is still TBD, based on 2019 progress and intern background/interest. At a high-level the project will focus on either: Pricing Strategy, Governance: This would include helping to design the strategy and process for Pricing, Short/Long Term Portfolio Planning: Helping to define KPIs and Management of Portfolio Innovation and/or Discontinuances, Future State Portfolio Design: Similar to above, but with the added element of understanding what products should belong in specific Markets

 

Candidate Development (What skills or experiences will the intern gain as a result of completing this project) Build a knowledge of how a Portfolio can be designed and managed in a Global Corporation, exposure to front end developing pricing strategy, further develop critical strategic and analytical thinking skills, gain exposure to Executive level questions, issues and audiences, improve business communication and effective audience targeting and management of multiple teams and diverse approaches and solutions to problems

 

Desired Degree BA or Masters Candidate in Marketing, Statistics, Analytics, Strategy, or Economics. 

 

Desired Skills  Analytical thinking skills are key, creative problem solving, out of the box thinking.  All of these project areas are at their beginning, so new approaches to problems is critical, understanding of Excel, more mastery than general knowledge, willingness to Lead, ability to influence/collaborate without authority (Student organizations interacting with School Admin, for example).

 

*This is a summer 2019 internship; qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern. This position is located in Ada, Michigan.
