What’s special about this team:

The Children’s/Gen Z Product Development Team is a newly created, cross functional team of six, whose work will be focused on innovation and delivery of great new products for the Children’s/Gen Z product platforms.  This team’s work will inspire and develop products that our global Amway Business Owners (ABO’s) want to sell, and consumers will be excited to buy.  Working with this technical team, you will develop an open innovation mindset, thinking beyond internally developed products, to build external partnerships offering creative product options.   Your team will offer fresh, new, innovative product options for a growing category of Millennial buyers.   This team uses Stage Gate methodology, and your team partners will include process engineers, formulators, a packaging engineer, and a clinical investigator.  They collaborate to infuse creativity into new product offerings.  This is a cool opportunity for a formulator who enjoys bringing new ideas forward!


 How you would contribute to the role:

As a formulator on this new team, you will lead all aspects of product formulation from early discovery (product creation), through technical development and scale up, to production activities.  You will have a daily dose of excitement and challenge, formulating children’s nutrition products for global consumers.   You will play a key role on our Idea to Market (ITM) teams by leading formulation activities for new product launches.  This role will have you creating product formulations involving formula development, safety testing, claims testing, and partnerships with process engineering on successful product scale up.  Additionally, you will collaborate heavily with external partners to create and co-develop or outsource new products and technologies.  Your passion will drive the vision for the product and will engage Marketing and internal partners on how to promote product benefits and attributes to ABO’s around the globe.  Your ability to develop innovative new products will continue to evolve our strong reputation for quality and performance in the Millennial & Children’s nutrition product portfolio.  This role can offer a strong platform to spotlight your talent on a global scale!


What skills and background will be important to be successful:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in formulation development  
  • Product development industry experience in nutrition, beverage or food (preferable with experience in design, development, discovery, and delivery)
  • Experience with a variety of food formats highly desired
  • Experience working with global project teams desirable
  • Ability to create, develop, test, and promote ideas and concepts
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and inspire both internal and external audiences
  • BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Formulation Sciences, or a closely related discipline
