Here at Amway, our interns develop through real world experience and are assigned meaningful projects that challenge and allow for personal growth. All Interns receive project support and on-going performance feedback from a person advisor and hiring manager. Amway hosts over 80+ interns each summer and offers programming events designed to assist navigating Amway culture, making the most of a summer internship, and building a successful career. Internship Eligibility:

This job posting is for our summer 2021 Internship Program (May – August); qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern.

Global Procurement

 

Global Procurement is a function within Amway’s Supply Chain that is responsible for matching external capabilities with internal needs. Global Procurement is divided into Direct (raw materials/finished goods) and Indirect (primarily services).  Procurement seeks to empower each individual to bring their unique competencies and skillsets to the table in a work hard, play hard culture.

Students will be given a chance to express their creativity and innovation on meaningful projects that will impact real-world work far beyond your internship. Areas of emphasis and responsibility include:

  • Sourcing Management - Leading cross functional teams to select and develop the right suppliers for continuous value creation.
  • Supplier Performance Management - Managing suppliers and the ongoing flow of raw materials into our production facilities.
  • Industry/ Commodity Analysis - Gathering and interpreting multiple sources of data, conducting a cost analysis/breakdown for a category of spend and providing cost/process improvement recommendations that will be incorporated into a Category Strategy.
  • Strategy Development - Develop strategies that meet the needs of internal stakeholders and support our consumer focused business initiatives.
  • Competitive Bids- Optimizing spend and providing cost reductions via the competitive bid process.

Supply Chain Planning

 

Supply Chain Planning is responsible for providing a consistent flow of inbound raw and component inventory to our onsite manufacturing plants, and strategically planning inbound raw materials, components, and finished goods for production around the world.

 
The Supply Chain Planning internship will consist of managing a portfolio of items as the Material Requirements Planner and acting on opportunities for process improvement. The candidate will be exposed to the supplier development process, working closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Omnichannel Logistics, Project Management, and Marketing. Successful completion of this internship will result in achieving world-class service levels and optimized inventory management.  The Supply Chain Planning Internship will provide you with many opportunities, including:

  • End to End Supply Chain Exposure - The Supply Chain Planner interacts daily with Procurement, Manufacture, Quality Assurance, Logistics and others. The Supply Chain Planner will be exposed to and understand how each area fits into the overall supply chain.
  • Leadership and Decision Making - The Supply Chain Planner will own a portfolio of items and will have responsibility for making decisions regarding manufacturing prioritization and customer requirements.
  • Inventory Management and Control - The Supply Chain Planner will have sole responsibility for identifying inventory reduction opportunities while maintaining a high level of service to our customers.

Global Omnichannel Logistics

 

Amway’s Global Omnichannel Logistics team is responsible for the end-to-end flow of Amway products from the manufacturer to our Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and customers. This flow of products can be further broken down into the functional areas of Transportation, Distribution, Global Trade, and Reverse Logistics.

 

As a global department we support operations worldwide including inbound transportation to Amway owned manufacturing sites in the United States, China, India, and Vietnam.  Final mile delivery operations occur in over 80 countries via delivery to residential homes, centralized pick-up points, distribution centers, and Amway owned shops.  Our global mission is to provide our ABOs & customers a competitive e-commerce experience while we drive efficiencies and cost savings in Amway’s delivery operations.  We aim to achieve our mission through site and market-specific continuous improvement activities using insights identified by our global analytics team and ground floor operations.

Analytics

 

The Analytics teams are responsible for providing Amway Leadership with business insights and driving new and innovative approaches to analytics across the globe. 

 

An analyst on this team will be responsible for gaining and leveraging an understanding of our data within the Global Supply Chain. This person will have the opportunity to use this information to create and implement new solutions that directly benefit Amway Leadership on a global scale. Analytics teams exist within each of the Supply Chain departments: Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, and Global Omnichannel Logistics.
