Job Title: Front-Line Leader I/II

What do we need:

We are looking to hire a Front-Line Leader for our Nutrilite Spaulding Plant. You will be responsible for planning and executing your team’s daily goals to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality and delivery.


What’s special about this team:

The Nutrilite Spaulding Plant (NSP) manufactures soft gel products and produces powder and supplement pack sachets, as well as bottled and pouched nutritional supplements for Amway’s Nutrilite Brand of products. As a Front-Line Leader, you will be part of a highly skilled, flexible and collaborative team.  The NSP work environment is focused on building business ownership and shared leadership within our operating teams to allow for day-to-day decision making to occur at the production floor level.  This model provides a foundation for allowing NSP to remain flexible, agile and responsive to the Nutrition Supply Chain and our ABOs.  The Spaulding plant runs 24 hours a day, six days a week, requiring the Technicians to work three 12.5-hour shifts per week.  The six day work week is covered by four production teams, which consists of three rotating teams and one static team.  Rotating teams cover Sunday – Tuesday nights and Monday – Saturday days, with rotations occurring every four months.  The static team covers Wednesday – Friday night and does not rotate.   Shift schedules are from 6:30am to 7:00pm or 6:30pm to 7:00am.  Weekend overtime is routinely available, which is covered on a voluntary basis, unless business needs require scheduled overtime.

 

What’s special about this role:

The Front-Line Leader (FLL) I will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising activities during a single shift within our Soft Gel or Packaging operations.  They are expected to deliver operational excellence in safety, quality and the delivery of products to our customers. The FLL will achieve results through leading and assisting manufacturing technicians with technical support, incident management to safety and quality outages, coaching and mentoring. 

Responsibilities will include:

Demonstrating capabilities of an entry-level leader and setting direction for the shift while driving activities that support business goals, effectively communicating across all levels, responding to situations and challenges and encouraging and rewarding team members. The FFL will perform functions associated with safety and productivity on a designated shift and functional job family while maintaining a high level of quality.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within in a manufacturing setting and leadership experience highly preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED

 

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Ability to motivate and coach technicians in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills to include an ability to learn and use company MRP (JDE/DcLink), MES (CAC), and PMC systems, related software, databases and applications to include use of typical office suite software packages
  • Ability to obtain a Hilo license
  • Interact with/lead cross-functional teams to achieve defined outcomes through partnering, constructive and positive collaboration with culturally diverse team members, internal customers and external suppliers, respects and values differences and opinions of others
  • Understand customer needs and expectations and consistently look for ways to exceed the customer’s expectations. 
  • Build trust and integrity through open, timely, honest and constructive verbal and written communication with internal team members, internal customers and external suppliers to include effective delivery of and acceptance of feedback
