Background of Functional Area   An Industrial Designer is responsible to design and develop solutions that are innovative, fit within our brand standards, support the ABO and delight the customer by delivering a superior consumer experience.

 

Project Description  This project will focus on developing both product and packaging designs by creating sketches, storyboards, renderings and prototypes.  The package or durable product concepts should solve a consumer or business problem or enhance today's consumer experience. Concepts could focus on a way to communicate with the consumer by drawing attention to a package or product, reminding the consumer, monitoring its content, communicating information, improving safety, or improving convenience. We are looking for an intern to help develop stories and prototypes for the next latest and greatest interactive package or durable product for Amway.

 

Candidate Development Exposure to R&D and product development process in a corporation, experience in packaging design, Durable Product design and rapid prototyping and collaboration with engineers and marketers to create a successful product design.

 

Desired Degree  Bachelor or Masters degree in Industrial Design

 

Desired Skills  Must be creative with strong ID portfolio, must demonstrate the ability to develop creative solutions to solve problems; have strong sketching skills, and be fluent in CAD (Rhino 3D or SolidWorks preferred) and good computer and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently.

 

*This is a summer 2019 internship; qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern. This position is located in Ada, Michigan.
