What do we need:


We are looking for a Mechanic Helper to assist our Journeymen Mechanics with a variety of work. The individual should be a self-driven and motivated individual willing to work independently or as a team.

What’s special about this team:


Our Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the facilities and manufacturing equipment at our West Michigan locations for our valued customers. The Maintenance team is comprised of more than 100 highly qualified Skilled Trades employees, and the equipment they maintain is involved with a wide range of manufacturing - from nutritional and cosmetics products, to personal care items, to blow molding our own bottles to package our products in.


What’s special about this role:


In this role, you will report to a Group Leader, and this position will be on 3rd shift. You will have numerous responsibilities – from diagnosing, to repairing, to performing preventative maintenance, to finding root-cause solutions to problems. This position will require flexibility for possible Monday through Saturday scheduling, with the department determining which days will comprise the 40-hour work week based upon production and scheduling demands. This role may require scheduled and unscheduled overtime.


Required qualifications:

Basic familiarity of the following:

-  Performing tasks requiring accuracy and mental application in the use of shop tools and hand tools

-  Attention to detail including good follow through on projects from start to completion

- Computer skills to include an ability to learn and use Infor EAM to include inputting information, documenting work performed and closing work order sequences when work is complete; also includes an ability to use Microsoft office suite software packages including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

-  Anticipating and identifying problems and safety concerns, reviewing related information at hand with Group Leader, Journeyman Machinist, Mechanic, or Electrician.

-  Communicating with co-workers to facilitate work completion in a timely manner

-  Proactively gathering and organizing data/information to allow for smooth and efficient transition across all shifts

-  Demonstrating the confidence, ability and self-motivation to apply talents independently and with good judgment

-  Demonstrating an ongoing curiosity and understanding of how machines and tools operate to include the mechanics of fit and function

-  Installs new equipment as required, modifies and fabricates components for existing equipment.
