What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a technically strong leader to build and lead a modern Enterprise Architecture (EA) function focused on enabling teams to move faster while maintaining architectural consistency.
This role will define and drive enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and tooling while enabling engineering teams through practical guidance, reusable platforms, and modern practices such as AI-enabled development.
You will play a key role in shaping how technology decisions are made across the organization—balancing speed, scalability, and security—while aligning closely to business priorities and long-term technology strategy.
What you’ll do day to day:
- Build and lead the enterprise architecture function, including:
- Team structure
- Operating model
- Practices and success metrics
- Define and own the enterprise target-state architecture and multi-year technology roadmap
- Translate business strategy into technology direction and investment priorities
- Lead a global EA team (manager + ~4 architects across regions)
- Provide leadership to domain architects across delivery organizations through matrixed influence
- Guide engineering teams by:
- Providing architectural guardrails
- Enabling faster solution design and delivery
- Reducing unnecessary friction and over-documentation
- Own and govern the enterprise platform portfolio, including:
- Identifying redundancies and gaps
- Supporting platform rationalization
- Advising on build vs. buy decisions
- Drive adoption of modern architecture practices
- Embed AI-powered tooling and architectural guardrails into delivery workflows
- Establish lightweight governance that:
- Enables delivery teams
- Maintains architectural coherence
- Resolve cross-team and cross-domain technical decisions
- Partner with executive leadership on:
- Technology direction
- Investment priorities
- Architectural risk
- Track and report on:
- Architecture adoption
- Decision velocity
- Business impact
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of related experience in technology or architecture domains
- Strong background in engineering, architecture, or technical leadership
- Experience building or leading an enterprise architecture or engineering function
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience defining:
- Enterprise architecture strategy
- Multi-year technology roadmaps
- Experience aligning technology investments to business capability models and value streams
- Experience advising senior leadership on technical strategy and investment decisions
- Experience leading teams and influencing across matrixed organizations
Skills to Be Successful in the Role
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to connect business strategy to architecture decisions
- Deep understanding of:
- Enterprise system landscapes
- Cloud platforms
- Integration patterns
- Data architecture
- Working knowledge of AI/ML architecture, including:
- Large language models
- Retrieval-augmented systems
- Agentic systems and guardrails
- Strong collaboration skills in complex, matrixed environments
- Ability to influence without direct authority across engineering teams
- Strong communication skills across:
- Executive leadership
- Technical teams
- Ability to establish governance models that balance:
- Speed
- Standardization
- Architectural integrity
What’s Special About This Team
This is a newly re-established Enterprise Architecture function designed to operate very differently from the past. Instead of acting as a control layer, the team focuses on enabling delivery teams through reusable patterns, practical guidance, and modern tooling.
The role has enterprise-wide impact, influencing major technology decisions, platform strategy, and long-term architecture direction, while helping teams accelerate delivery and adopt modern approaches such as AI-enabled engineering.
