Job Title:                            Software Developer

Department / Division:  ABO Product Engineering MAGIC DMS/ABO Success

Salary Range:                   $89,729- $116,120 plus an annual bonus

Location:                           Ada, MI (Hybrid- In office days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

 

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a creative and talented full stack end to end software developer who is passionate in coding and has the tenacity to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.

 

The MDMS program has several capability-based pods strategically aligned to our NextGen Commerce ecosystem while also meeting the needs of the legacy system known as the monolith. As a developer in the MDMS team, you will have the opportunity to work in one of these pods, be part of the team that is responsible for the development, delivery and implementation of a set of capabilities owned by the pods.

 

This role is responsible for creating, developing, and enhancing new capabilities, features and microservices which also include test automation scripts, carry out unit testing, peer code reviews and functional testing. This role is also responsible to de-bug and fix defects or errors in new and existing applications. Being a member of an end-to-end delivery team, this role will resolve issues in production environment, and will provide rotating end of month (once a month) support and be part of the weekly on call support roster schedule which might be during off hours, weekends and/or holidays. (Time off in lieu will be granted accordingly for hours worked). As this is a global team, there will be instances when meetings will be during off hours.

 

As a software developer, you will be expected to collaborate with multiple cross functional units, locally and globally with various stakeholders comprising of business users, scrum masters, product managers, project managers, business and IT system analysts, testers etc. This role will also follow established solution delivery guidelines and software development life cycle (SDLC) such as agile methodology and DevOps CI/ CD standards and practices.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • At least 3 years of software development and delivery working experience in Java development with J2EE and Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)
  • Having development experience in microservices architecture and service mesh on AWS platform and technology will be preferred.

 

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Programming skills in Java, J2EE, EJB 2 and 3, Servlet, JSP, SQL, JMS, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Application and web server knowledge in IBM WebLogic
  • Working experience using application monitoring tool such as Dynatrace
  • Working knowledge in CI/ CD deployment pipeline tool such as Jenkins
  • Working knowledge in code quality and security tool such as SonarQube
  • Solid database experience working with Oracle, SQL
  • Working knowledge using version control tools such as Git, GitHub
  • Working knowledge in messaging events framework such as Kafka
  • Working knowledge in AWS technology (e.g. use of AWS services such as S3, EC2, EBS, AWS management tools such as CloudWatch, Autoscaling, ELB, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS database services such as DynamoDB and RDS)
  • Working knowledge in web services and web services testing tool such as SOAP, REST, SoapUI and Postman
  • Familiar with team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Familiar with testing tools such as JUnit, Vividus will be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong problem solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language
  • Experience working across diversified cultures with talent to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to bring projects forward to completion
  • Working experience in an Agile (Scrum) and DevOps environment
