Purpose of the role:
We are looking for a Finance Data & Analytics Lead to help shape how Finance uses data to make faster, better, and more confident business decisions. This is a hands-on individual contributor role at the intersection of Finance, Data, BI, and Technology, ideal for someone who understands financial data, enjoys solving complex data challenges, and wants to influence the development of a modern cloud-based analytics platform.

In this role, you will act as a trusted Finance data partner, connecting Finance stakeholders, Global Process Owners, Technology teams, external delivery partners, and end users. You will help ensure that Finance data delivered through the GCP Finance data platform is accurate, consistent, clearly defined, and ready to support reporting, self-service analytics, and business decision-making.

This is an opportunity to play a visible role in building trusted Finance data assets, improving data quality, and enabling Finance teams to move from legacy reporting toward modern, scalable analytics.

Primary responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Finance data partner by connecting Finance stakeholders, Global Process Owners, Technology teams, external delivery partners, and end users.
  • Define, document, and align Finance data definitions, KPIs, business rules, reporting logic, and data quality expectations with Finance subject matter experts.
  • Translate Finance business requirements and validation findings into clear data, reporting, and BI specifications for Technology teams and delivery partners.
  • Support the design and curation of trusted, business-ready Finance data assets on the GCP Finance data platform, ensuring clear definitions, lineage, and business meaning.
  • Validate financial data across source ERP systems, reporting environments, and the GCP platform, investigating discrepancies and supporting issue resolution.
  • Maintain Finance data quality standards, glossary content, catalog information, lineage documentation, and quality monitoring requirements.
  • Support the migration from legacy reporting tools to the new GCP analytics platform and self-service BI solutions.
  • Contribute to the Finance Data & Analytics use-case backlog by capturing, documenting, and helping prioritize new reporting and analytics needs.
  • Help build and maintain the roadmap for future Data & Analytics functionality and GCP platform capabilities, based on Finance priorities, user feedback, business value, and opportunities for further process and reporting improvement.
  • Support appropriate Finance data access design, aligned with process area, role, function, geography, and business need.
  • Support end-user enablement, training, and adoption of the new Finance data platform and BI solutions.

Required Knowledge & Skills and/or Related Experience:

  • Experience working with Finance data from ERP systems such as EBS, SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar, including the ability to understand, validate, and trace data across systems and reporting environments.
  • Good understanding of financial data, core Finance processes, and how data supports reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
  • Hands-on SQL skills for data validation, exploration, investigation, and issue analysis.
  • Experience with BI or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Business Objects, or similar.
  • Ability to define and document KPIs, business rules, data definitions, reporting logic, data quality requirements, and BI specifications.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or data lake environments.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to data accuracy, and ability to connect technical data details with business meaning.
  • Ability to work effectively with Finance, BI, Technology, and external delivery partners across different functions and seniority levels.
  • Fluent written and verbal English, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-have experience

  • Experience with GCP, BigQuery, Looker, JDE, EBS, or similar Finance and data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data catalogs, lineage, quality monitoring, IAM, role-based access, or Row-Level Security concepts.
  • Experience working in agile delivery, reporting migrations, end-user training, change management, GBS, shared services, or Finance Center of Excellence environments.

What makes this role unique

  • You will help shape a global Finance data platform at an important stage of its development, with real influence on future capabilities and ways of working.
  • The role combines Finance expertise with Data, BI, Technology, and cloud analytics, giving you broad exposure across global functions and senior stakeholders.
  • You will work on topics that directly improve the quality, consistency, and business value of Finance data across the organization.
