What is the purpose of this role?
Overall responsibility for co-ordination and local delivery of the Communications, Marketing and Content functions and activities across Southern Africa. The role is responsible for helping to ensure regional programs are implemented locally to help drive top line sales and and increasing brand recognition and reputation through the local execution of marketing programs.
Areas of responsibility:
Strategic
- Accountable for implementing the regional direction across the areas of marketing, communications, content and CRM for Southern Africa.
Financial
- Manage projects on time and on budget with oversight and in conjunction with the regional team.
Marketing Campaigns and Product Management
- Bring to market in line with regional direction, new products and launches to capitalise on market trends.
- Maintain brand positioning by delivering and implementing regionally driven, targeted, innovative and creative campaigns, advertising, promotional programs, support literature and training with the aim of building equity in major Amway brands to achieve business line growth.
- Work with various regional teams to help develop local content where required.
- Manage product materials based on distributor need and otherwise drive the benefits of our range
- Understand the ABOs and how they use and promote our products
- Keep abreast with overseas and local trends and competitors positioning to help ensure the regional strategy is applicable to Souther Africa.
- Work with internal and external suppliers as required.
Communications
- Ensure seamless and timely local delivery of communications plans, programs and tools for internal and external clients.
- Manage content planning for standard communication vehicles ensuring relevancy and connection.
- Maintain website content for South Africa to ensure they include updated new product.
- launches and promotions and that website content is accurate and of a high quality.
Relationship Building
- Develop and maintain inclusive working relationships across the organisation both locally and regionally to ensure cohesive input and involvement with marketing programs.
- Develop an understanding senior ABO leaders to ensure ABO feedback is incorporated into future plans.
Meeting and Event participation and activation
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing activations at the monthly Silver plus meeting, Amway hosted events and Leader Community events.
What you’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, commerce or a related discipline

4 – 6 years experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in marketing and new product development
- Strong brand management
- Product development skills
- Business acumen
- Understanding of digital and social media.
- Strong time management skills
- Strong communication/negotiation skills
- Ability to take the initiative
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Highly motivated self starter
