What do we need: We are seeking a talent whose background is chromatography/separation science with their foundation in natural products chemistry / botanicals / phyto-chemistry. This Research Scientist will offer technical and scientific insights for global analytical chemistry functions that support our Nutrilite brand, the world’s No. 1 selling dietary / botanical supplements brand. In this role you will drive phytochemistry based chromatographic test method development and validation for botanical ingredients and products. With your expertise, you will mentor scientists and peers regarding advances of botanical and agricultural research and apply data analysis and reporting that accelerates product innovation, development and ensures quality compliance. Your analytical background will provide insights for new product development, post launch product support, and agricultural research across multiple global farm organizations. Additionally, your in-depth knowledge of botanicals and phytochemistry will be spotlighted in both discovery development and business sustaining activities. This is a highly collaborative role, working both internally with R & D , Regulatory / Compliance and Quality partners, and acting also as an external liaison with national and international scientific organizations. Externally you will deliver technical presentations, participate on scientific committees, and conduct peer reviews of manuscripts and proposals that will build industry influence and advance our corporate research interests.
Required qualifications:
- MS or (PhD highly preferred) in phytochemistry, natural products chemistry, pharmacognosy, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in analytical chemistry, botanical/nutrition testing and phytochemistry (industry experience is preferred)
- Experience in complex data analysis, with exposures communicating technical scientific results to a wide variety of audiences
- Background in a broad suite of lab analysis instrumentation and software platforms (cGMP, HPLC, UPLC, HPTLC, etc.)
