Purpose of the role

The Social Media Specialist contributes to the management and growth of ESAN’s corporate social channels by delivering high‑quality content, maintaining the editorial calendar, and coordinating cross‑functional inputs with greater autonomy.

In this role, the Specialist supports content planning, applies brand and platform guidelines, and identifies opportunities to optimize performance across channels. The position works closely with the Manager to ensure strategic alignment with the ESAN social media framework while acting as a knowledgeable partner to internal stakeholders and our social media agency. The Specialist manages day‑to‑day operations with increased independence, providing guidance, consistency, and operational oversight across markets.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, creation, and execution of content for ESAN social channels, including copywriting, posting and reporting.  
  • Help maintain regional social media guidelines and ensure consistent content quality.
  • Oversee daily accuracy, quality checks, and coherence across ESAN channels.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional projects (Marketing, Events, Industry Relations, HR) and manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage the operational relationship with the social media agency, ensuring timely delivery of assets and adherence to procedures.
  • Monitor community conversations, flag potential issues and support mitigation plans by escalating to the Manager when needed.
  • Maintain and organize the editorial calendar and content intake process
  • Produce or coordinate creation of briefs, copy, visuals, and video content aligned with platform needs.
  • Track channel performance, prepare regular reports, and suggest practical improvements.
  • Stay updated on relevant social trends and platform updates to help enhance content.
  • Support corporate or brand initiatives requiring social media amplification.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

  • Full proficiency in English; additional languages valued.
  • Around 3 years of experience in social media management, preferably in corporate or agency environments. Experience on Health & Wellbeing content will be a plus
  • Good understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) and their best practices.
  • Ability to support content planning, adapt briefs into posts, and manage daily channel operations.
  • Solid copywriting skills and basic visual communication understanding.
  • Experience coordinating with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Ability to organize timelines, prioritize tasks, and support mid‑level projects.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools and ability to prepare performance reports.
  • Comfortable working under deadlines and managing multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of key social trends and platform updates.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different levels of stakeholders.
